Sandy Harper, is a Cape Wine Master, who developed her passion for wine from her father who dabbled in winemaking as a hobby. She holds a Masters Degree in Food Science & Air Transport Economics from Stellenbosch University.

Sandy’s business career was in advertising, at Draft FCB and later her own business. Sandy manages the Old Mutual PLC Executive Wine Club, an executive networking platform which she initiated 16 years ago. In 2004 she wrote ‘The Cool Lunchbox’ on nutrition, which was published in various countries. Her Cape Wine Master’s thesis was on Wine Clubs, and she won the La Motte Award for Excellence in Viticulture. In 2013 she received the ‘Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne’. In 2014 she was inducted into the ‘Grand Conceil du Vin de Bordeaux’. In 2015 she completed the Michael Fridjhon Wine Tasting Academy. Sandy is a judge for the IWSC both locally and in London.

Sandy is currently one of three travelling judges for the 2016 Cape Legends Show Cook Awards which was judged in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

Sandy lives in Johannesburg with her husband and two daughters.
